TO ALL THE GIRLS WHO DON’T HAVE A SISTER

When I think about my childhood there’s not much I would change. Many would even call the way I grew up “perfect”. In the Charania household there are four of us– my Dad, Mom, Brother and me. We moved to Georgia from Texas when my little brother and I were six and eight years old.

We were blessed enough to live in a beautiful home, in the same neighborhood as my cousins who were close in age to us. Life was always fun with riding bikes down the hills and watching the boys play basketball in the backyard. I always had a big group of …

TABLE TALK | THE BEST LAMB CHOPS EVER

It took us about 2 years to invest in a cast iron pan and though I have no idea why it took so long, but now that we have it I don’t know what we did without it!

One of our favorite meals to make with the cast iron skillet is Lamb Chops. Now Hubs doesn’t cook much, but when he does… best lamb chops… ever! They are so tender and juicy and the Harissa spice powder is the best seasoning ever–I seriously wish I could put it on everything.

I hope you guys enjoy this delicious meal as much as we do!

THE TRUTH ABOUT FAMILY PHOTOS

It’s that time of year again! Time for holiday photos, planning the perfect outfits, location scouting, and coordinating dates & times with the family. I always go back and forth about family holiday photos. I mean is it really worth getting all dressed up for literally 10-15 minutes of chaos?

Last year we kept it simple and took our family picture in our backyard, it was the day after Thanksgiving and it was our first year with our (then) new pup! This …

5 UNIQUE WAYS TO DECORATE YOUR CHRISTMAS TREE

Christmas Tree decorating is what I live for. Well, not really — but it is my absolute favorite season of the year and I really put all my creative juices to work when I’m decorating. I’ve been decorating our family tree for as long as I can imagine. We’re not Christians, so my parents never really understood why I loved putting a tree up every year, but they also never forbid me for doing so. I like to think of Christmas more of a time of family, love, and togetherness and that’s why every year I try and put together a tree that embodies that.

Now that I have …

4 THINGS YOU SHOULD BE DOING AS AN ADULT

#Adulting hit me hard when Aziz & I decided to get married when I was only 23 years old. I had never lived on my own, let alone with a boy! Nor had I ever, written a check, cleaned an entire house (not just my room when I was told), gone to the doctor alone, cooked every single day, I didn’t even know how much a mortgage payment or regular bills cost! I had no idea what I was getting myself into when I decided to get married, I mean I knew it would mean living with the boy I love, but I had no idea about all

GOODBYE FALL

I hope everyone had an amazing long weekend, and an eventful Thanksgiving with their family and friends!

There’s something beautiful in saying goodbye to one season, and welcoming the next one. Fall is always a great transition into winter (my favorite season ever) and the best thing about fall is the fashion options! I absolutely love dressing in coats, chunky sweaters, and earth-tones. This Thanksgiving I opted out of wearing anything too form fitting (give me all the yummy Thanksgiving food) and chose something classic, yet comfy.

HOW TO START A RENOVATION PROJECT

Three years ago when we purchased our current home we couldn’t stop cheesing! We were lucky enough to get a great deal and more space than we could’ve imagined within our budget. Right from the start there were a few things that we knew we wanted to change. Although it was a new built, it was a little bit more traditional than our style, but for the time being it was perfect.

Over the last few years we have changed out most of the light fixtures, replaced the carpet with hardwood, and added pieces that really make our home ours. This year we are making …

THE PERFECT PAIR OF PANTS

Although you’ll rarely see me in a professional work environment (working from home can do that to ya), luckily blogging gives me an outlet where I can have fun with my wardrobe. Working from home has it’s perks, but if there’s one thing I miss it’s dressing up!

These pants are perfect for anyone, whether you work in a school with children, or if you are the #bosslady running into a meeting. They definitely statement pants, but don’t be fooled… they feel like pajamas! Style them with a body suit like I am here, or pair them with a fun bold sweater to stay cozy …

BUILDING A GOOD FOUNDATION FOR YOUR RELATIONSHIP

Aziz & I are coming up on our five year anniversary (dating + marriage) early next year and as I look back at our time together I remember all the work and effort that went into creating a strong foundation for our relationship. Each hurdle had an outcome, and each outcome is now the strength of the bond we have created.

There are plenty of strategies that you can use to set the right foundation for your relationship. Lucky for you, I’m five years in which means five years of experience which I hope can help you.

TABLE TALK | HEALTHY SEEKH KABAB

One of my greatest memories growing up is having my entire extended family over for a huge gathering at least once a year. The one thing I remember from these get-togethers is my mom serving a ginormous platter of seekh-kababs over rice for everyone. It was no-doubt, my absolute favorite food ever and these kababs were my favorite part about these parties.   Read More
