EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW TO HAVE HEALTHY HAIR

Being a girl is rough, we have makeup routines, skincare routines, hair care routines, even CLEANING routines. I mean I love a routine as much as the next girl but sometimes I just can’t keep track of them. This is why I (try) to live a very simplified life. I’ve realized that I have more of a chance of actually keeping up with the routines I set for myself if I keep them easy and simple. Hair is something that can make or break your day. This is why it’s important to establish a maintainable routine for yourself. Here are some of my must-do’s to keep your hair happy and healthy.

1. Wash your hair thoroughly.

Theres nothing worse than drying your hair after the shower just to find out that the roots are sticky because there is still shampoo in it. Please tell me I’m not the only one this happens to. See, I have a lot of hair– so I have to wash my hair in layers just  to make sure all the shampoo is washed out.

2. Always use a serum.

I’m not too keen on trimming my hair as often as I should, so using a serum to keep the ends of my hair healthy is a must. My favorite is the Organix  argan oil for dry & course hair . Apply a dime size amount in the palm of your hand and distribute it to the last three inches of your hair. You will see a difference immediately.

3. Don’t wash your hair everyday.

Most people don’t know this, but over-washing your hair dries out your scalp. The combination of hot water and over washing your hair can cause the scalp to become dry, which can cause dandruff. Yikes! Everyday Health says that the best way to avoid this problem is to skip a wash every once in a while. Everyone has their washing day. I have a lot of hair and it is extremely thick so I can go almost a whole week without washing my hair. Thank the Lord for dry shampoo! 

4. Use a wet brush

Ladies, I am here to introduce to you the greatest, least painful way to brush your hair. That’s right, no more post-shower tears! I can’t believe how long it took me to get on the train– a wet brush is the only brush to healthily detangle your hair. It eliminates all the tugging, pulling and ripping. I promise, it will change your life. Get one here.

5. Use coconut oil

Coconut oil makes the hair healthier and can help it grow faster when used regularly in your hair care routine. I Use coconut oil as a natural way to help my hair grow longer, thicker, and faster. I try to massage coconut oil in my hair at least once a month. The key is to keep it in the hair for more than 3 hours. I like to keep in in overnight if I can, be sure to place a towel over your pillows at night to prevent an oil stain.
