What they say is true, fashion always comes back in style. I can remember back in high school when blazers were BIG– even though I don’t think they ever went OUT of style, they definitely have evolved over the years.
Out of all the different types of blazers out there, I believe that boyfriend blazers are the most versatile. The boyfriend blazer is inspired by men’s clothing but can be extremely feminine and chic. It can be worn in the office, a family outing, and even a date. Despite its name, a boyfriend blazer deserves a place in every woman’s closet, so keep on reading for my styling tricks on how to wear your boyfriend blazer.
If you know me at all, you know I’m kind of a wuss when it comes to anything but neutrals. EXCEPT when picking a blazer, I always gravitate towards color. I guess you could say I’m afraid of looking too “men’s wear” and not enough “effortless”. I’m totally obsessed with this dusty pink number that I scored during the DressUp warehouse sale, unfortunately it sold out quickly so I’ve linked a similar one below.
2) KEEP THE REST BASIC
When I wear something like a blazer, I like to make that my statement piece and everything else neutral. Stick with the classics — black bottoms (jeans, trousers, or even, oooh! leather leggings?), and a black, grey or white top. I went with grey because it gave me spring vibes and I was ALL about that.
3) CHOOSE FUN SHOES
I’m a pretty boring person when it comes to shoes. I have about 50 shades of brown pairs, but I’m turning a new leaf… I just invested in this beautiful pair of bright pink heels and I think I’m just going try to pair them with everything I wear from now on. So, have fun with your shoes, don’t be boring like the
me the old me.
