I’d tell you not to stress but who am I kidding? Valentines Day, for a romantic like me at least, is a pretty important day. Whether you’re firing sparks of a new romance or keeping things exciting with an old flame, Valentines Day is a special day to look forward to. No matter what your love life looks like, one thing’s for certain: you’ll want to spend February 14 looking your best.
This will be Aziz’s and my fifth Valentines day together, and while we love romantic dinners, we try to stay away from the crowds on a day like this. Can you blame us? We’re not too fond of long waits or pre-set menus. Our favorite thing to do is spend the whole day together. We love starting out with brunch in the city, then hitting our favorite ice cream shop, and we may even feel adventurous and watch an early movie, extra butter on the popcorn please. For dinner we keep it pretty simple, once a year we let ourselves indulge in carb-loaded Italian food (Olive Garden to-go is my personal favorite, trust me, it’s worth the wait).
For today’s post I teamed up with one of my favorite Atlanta makeup artists, SumanBeauty, who slayed my makeup by the way. We put our heads together to come up with a look that would be easy to transition from day to night. For the day look I pulled a dress that I bought for my bachelorette party, and didn’t end up wearing, I paired it with a leather jacket, barley- there heels and a pop of color in my accessories, I also love me a high ponytail– so perfect for a daytime date!
I hope you enjoyed part 1 of this series! Valentines Day is special and I want to make sure you’re prepared for whatever comes your way. Stay tuned for my next post where I’ll show you how I take this daytime look and transition it into a nighttime look by changing just a few accessories.
