As a girl who’s been obsessed with makeup since a little girl, I’ve tried tons of different products. It started off as playing with different eye-shadow colors and eye liners and now it’s turned into finding the perfect products for my skin type. I have extremely dry skin, so my goal is always to achieve a dewy and flawless canvas for my face. Of course, I love trying out new products but I have finally found the certain ones that work for me and my skin. Below are my top 8 beauty products I can’t live without.
1. Tarte Maracuja Oil:
I always start off with making sure my skin is prepared. After trying various oils, I always come back to this one. The Tarte Maracuja oil is perfect to use all over my face to get rid of my dry patches before applying any makeup, AND I mix a drop or two into my foundation to make sure my face looks nice and glowy. You can also apply it before you go to bed on a clean face and your face is sure to glow the next morning. A must have for your skincare and beauty routine!
2. NARS Sheer Glow foundation:
This is another one of my holy grail products. When I tell you I’ve tried over 20 different foundations, I really mean it, but the NARS sheer glow foundation can never be beat. I don’t know why it took me so long to try it! This foundation is the perfect medium-full coverage foundation for everyday. It’s definitely a build able product. I love to use a little bit of this foundation with my Huda Beauty Faux Filter foundation for a super full coverage, but dewy look. If you haven’t tried the NARS sheer glow– you need to jump on the train ASAP!
3. Tarte Shape Tape Concealer:
I love trying different types of concealers, but the Tarte shape tape is definitely a must have. There’s a reason so many people rave about his product. It’s the PERFECT concealer for everyday! It’s full coverage so you don’t even have to use it with foundation if you don’t want to. And trust me, a little goes a long way. I love this product especially when I don’t want to go through a full makeup routine. I just use this with my Tarte Maracuja oil and mascara and I’m set!
4. Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder:
Now, I can’t tell you I’ve tried hundreds of powders, because I haven’t. All I know is that I love this one, I’ve probably tried a few powders in the past, but I’ve been turned off by how the others have made me look super cakey. This one doesn’t do that. I think this powder is perfect for any skin type– ESPECIALLY those with dry skin because you can set your makeup without looking patchy. I love this powder for baking my undereyes and using it after I’m done with my makeup routine to carve out my cheek bones.
5. LA Girl Pro Concealer (in mahogany):
I don’t use many drugstore products anymore, but I know I can’t live without this one. This concealer can be a little intimidating at first, but once you get the hang of using a cream concealer to contour you won’t be able to live without it. I apply just a few dots to extenuate my cheek bones and then blend like nobody business! I absolutely love it, AND it makes contouring easy!
6. Benefit Hoola Bronzer:
After my cream contour, I go in with my Hoola bronzer. The combo of the LA girl concealer + the Benefit bronzer together is one like no other! It gives you the PERFECT contour and honestly, feels like you had your makeup done professionally.
P.S. I get the travel sized one and it lasts me FOREVER.
7. Too Faced, Better Than Sex Mascara:
Mascara’s are something I like to change up pretty often. This one was one I purchased recently (hence the travel sized) and I have to say, I love it so far! A problem I have with most of my mascaras is that they start flaking halfway into the day– and that is NOT a good look. This one has been behaving so far, not to mention it makes my lashes look like they’re a mile long. I’ll keep you posted on this one.
8. The Original Beauty Blender:
I don’t know how anyone can talk about “favorite beauty products” without mentioning The Original Beauty Blender. It’s kind of a given, but I’m OBSESSED. Although I don’t actually apply my foundation with the beauty blender (I use a brush because it doesn’t soak up too much of the product). I use it to make my makeup actually look like skin. One of my pet-peeves is looking dry and cakey, and this is the product that I use to stay away from that look. Using a damp beauty blender is the perfect way to have your skin actually look like skin, even with a pound of makeup on.
