Whenever I tell someone that my nails aren’t gel — but are SNS I get bombarded with tons of questions about them. I’ve been doing SNS for almost a year and have noticed many improvements in the quality of my nails. If you’ve been wondering about this new nail system, here are some answers for you!
1. WHAT DOES ‘SNS’ STAND FOR?
SNS stands for Signature Nail System — it’s also often called “Dip powder”.
2. HOW IS IT DIFFERENT THAN GEL?
Gel nail polish is dried by a UV light and with SNS your nail is dipped into the color powder and air dried.
3. WHAT IS THE SNS PROCESS?
The SNS application process: base coat is applied and then the nail is dipped into a pot of powder and then these 2 steps are repeated 1-2 more times.
4. HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?
A SNS manicure will last you from 3-4 weeks.
5. WHY SHOULD YOU DO SNS INSTEAD OF GEL?
SNS doesn’t extend your nail like gel nails do, but it does strengthen it. It’s less damaging to the nails than gel or acrylics. My nails haven’t chipped since I’ve done SNS!
