When reading through our photographers contract before our wedding, I noticed that it would cost us around $500 to get one wedding album made. It was going to be one of those big, bulky ones that was made in Italy, and though it sounded beautiful… I knew it was going to just sit in a box somewhere and be forgotten about. I would have also liked to have an album made for our parents, and to have spent $1500 on photo albums wasn’t in our wedding budget.
That’s when I started to do some research of my own. I came across an app called “SimplePrints”. Basically, you create a book on your phone using the pictures you have saved in your photos. You first choose between a 12×12 or an 8×8 book, then you add your photos (I LOVE that you can create a collage on each page– you can incorporate so many photos), you can even add pages, add text on the spine, and customize the cover page. Once you have your book completed, you choose between a hard or soft cover, and have an option of upgrading to premium paper (which I highly recommend).
We have purchased six books from SimplePrints and have loved every single one! The ones I have below are all 8×8, hardcovers with the premium paper upgrade. I created one for every event of our wedding, and also one from our recent trip to Southeast Asia. The best part is that you can display them without the look of an “old school, bulky album” and they make great coffee table books and are certainly conversation starters.
I can’t wait to create more books so we can look back at our cherished memories!
