Happy 34th birthday! Today we get to celebrate YOU, and that makes me SO happy. Today is special because 34 years and a few hours ago a humble, sweet, kind, handsome man was born.
First off, I want to tell you how I have loved spending your last four birthdays with you. I know growing up, your birthdays were interesting. My goal every year on July 11 is going to be to make sure the day is all about YOU and no-one else. You know why? Because you deserve it.
You are the most caring human I have ever known. Remember our first conversation over the phone? I told you that I was taking a nap and I might need a wake up call. You called me on the hour to make sure I was up. On that day, I knew you were going to care about me more than anyone else.
I want you to know that I think you are the best human in the world. I want you to know that even when I’m cranky, or passively aggressively making comments about cleaning, I’m still completely head over heels for you. We have been together for nearly half a decade, and every time I get a message from “The Husband”, my stomach fills with butterflies. Somedays, I wake up in the morning and wonder how I got so lucky, how can such an amazing person be mine?
Thank you for choosing me, again, and again.
Thank you for being my very best friend.
Thank you for kissing goodnight, and good morning each and every day.
Thank you for being my rock, and dealing with me when I’m moody or indecisive about which restaurant to have dinner at.
Thank you for telling me that you love me multiple times a day.
Thank you for having weekly dance parties with me in our living room.
Thank you for being the BEST puppy daddy in the whole world, and loving dogs because you knew I couldn’t live without one.
So, thank you for being a constant in my life and reminding me that you don’t need a lot to be happy, all we need is each eachother. Thank you for sharing your days with me, for being supportive of me and my dreams, and smiling with me everyday. I hope this is the best birthday yet, and I pray that we get to celebrate 100 more birthdays together.
