Do you have a wall in your home that you just don’t know what to do with? Girl, I feel you. This wall in our master suite haunted me for years. Everything I would buy to hang on it seemed, too small, not personal enough, or I simply just didn’t love it.
After finally decorating the rest of our home, (well, almost… are you ever really done with home decor?) I re-visited this wall and decided I was finally going to do something with it. I researched, and pinned, thats a verb right? And finally came across an idea that I thought might work.
At first I was looking into custom framing a few of our favorite wedding photos, but when I saw the price tag, I quickly backed away. Then, I came across this set of frames on Amazon, they have them in black, white, and gray. I was afraid black or white would look too “ikea-ish” so I opted for the gray ones. They are 12×12 and fit a 8×8 photo in each.
I ordered my prints on Walgreens.com (don’t forget to search for a coupon code—they always have discounts on their prints) and had my husband hang them. Because I wanted as much of the wall covered as I could, I decided to go with 5 frames on the top row, and 4 on the bottom. I think it looks elegant and not crowded like I’ve seen many gallery walls look.
I love that we are now reminded of our travels around the world every morning, right when we open our eyes. It’s also easy to switch out the photos as we encounter more adventures together.
