It’s that time of year again! Time for holiday photos, planning the perfect outfits, location scouting, and coordinating dates & times with the family. I always go back and forth about family holiday photos. I mean is it really worth getting all dressed up for literally 10-15 minutes of chaos?
Last year we kept it simple and took our family picture in our backyard, it was the day after Thanksgiving and it was our first year with our (then) new pup! This year we gathered the troops and headed to the local tree farm. We hadn’t don’t much preparation before hand– my brother is our honorary family photographer so we met him up at sunset and attempted to click a few pictures.
Something those cute Pinterest couples don’t tell you (or look like) when they take pictures with their dog is, one, how cold it actually is during this time of year and two, how dogs (especially our Jack Russel) hate sitting still for a picture.
Nonetheless, I think family photos are such a great way to commemorate the year by and I definitely vote yes to taking them yearly. Even though, it may take longer to get ready than taking the actual pictures.
